The Desert Sons have been performing traditional and contemporary music of the West since 1989.

They write and sing about what they love and their music is an expression of the deep roots each of the four members has in the West. The lead singer, John “Buck” Ryberg, is a retired pastor. Now living in Tucson, he grew up at the family dude ranch in Arizona working as a wrangler. Fiddler and harmony singer Benny Young hails  from the Caprock country in the Texas panhandle. Benny is a civil engineer by profession and resides in Tucson. K. W. “Skelly” Boyd, whose family settled in the Gila Valley in 1883 calls Safford home. Skelly plays guitar and sings. Singer, guitar and bass player E. T. “Slim” Tighe hangs his hat in Bisbee. He loves to explore Arizona on horseback.

The group has appeared at gathering throughout the West and has recorded four CD’s.
